2008 GHSA JAMBOREE
APRIL 11-13, 2008
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO THIS YEARS FORMAT

U11 games will play a Super 8 format (8 vs 8); U12-18 will play full field.

In an effort to provide continual improvement to our Jamboree, we have made some changes to the format of play for this years event.

Format for all age groups will be Competitive, Recreational A, Recreational B.

Competitive - Awards for 1st and 2nd place. For District Select/Metro/PDL/ and strong Gold teams wishing top caliber of play and fields.

Recreational A - No Standings kept. For typical Lower Island Gold/ and strong Silver teams as an option to Competitive. No select or metro or allstar teams

Recreational B - True Jamboree format. Play for the love of the game and good fun. Open to average silver teams/ bronze and house teams.

Please specify which group (Competitive, Recreational A or Recreational B) you wish to enter in the comments section (at the very bottom) of the Jamboree Registration Form.

Each group will have pools of 4 (no cross over between pools or divisions).

We will separate teams that play each other during the regular season play.

  • We are asking you to tell us what divisional pool you play in at home. This is especially important for the mainland teams.

When a team registers, the registrar will check to see if a team from that same pool/city is already accepted. If so we will contact the new team discuss options for them. This could involve putting them on a wait list or moving them to a different level or age group.

All teams will be listed as "Tentative (T)" until a pool consists of 4 teams.

When the first pool in a division and level is complete, these 4 teams will have the (T) removed. The next teams to register will be shown on the website and given a 'tentative' status until we get the 4th team, then all 4 teams will again have the (T) removed. NOTE: the likelihood will be that there will be 1 or 2 pools max, in an age group. Sometimes there will be enough teams to make a third pool but that will be rare.

If, by the first of February 2008, there are less then 4 teams in a pool, we will contact those teams to talk about options.

For all age groups, we will be using a new points system (not the point system that has been used in the past) Details to follow soon.

Teams that register as a Metro/Select team will be entered into the Competitive division.

We will be combining the Boys U17 and U18 pools and if necessary will combine the Girls U17 and 18.

Cost for this year:
U11 (Super 8) teams will be $325.00 for Competitive and $275.00 for Recreational teams.
Full field teams (U12-18) will be $475.00 for Competitive and $390.00 for Recreational teams.

ALL participants receive a free drink and hotdog, 4 games, lots of fun and hopefully sunshine.

The format for Competitive will once again be round robin for points to determine the placement of teams. We will be awarding a 1st and 2nd place award in the Competitive pool. See the link to Jamboree Rules and Things to Remember.

We look forward to saying "Welcome" to you and your team. See you in April.
